Dual Meet Scoring
In dual meets, or double dual meets, points are awarded for places as follows:
a) Individual events: 6 — 4 — 3 — 2 — 1
b) Relay events:8 — 4 — 2
c) No team may score more than 3 places in an individual event.
d) No team may score more than 2 places in a relay.
e) If a team does not score at least 2 places in an individual event or score at least one place in a relay event, and they have swimmers participating, then that team gets the points for the last two places points in the individual event or the last place points in the relay event. If they score one place in the individual event and the other team scores 4 places, the team gets the points for their place and the 5th place points. If there are no swimmers participating from a team in the event, they do not get the points.
